Rock and roll baby

K loves taking baths and has started figuring out how much fun splashing the water is. She truly enjoys the water and we're thinking of possibly looking for some infant swimming classes to encourage this love!

We do have many fun bath toys, but what could be more fun than chewing on toes?!

And then we made her hair punk rock!

To all my followers... hi!

K recently learned how to wave and we actually got it on video. She is so proud of herself when she does it. So just think that she's waving to you personally! We're now working on other sign language in hopes she catches on to things like more and all done. If our cousins can do it then so can we!

Can't believe in a week K turns 9 months old. Where does the time go? She is such a fun little girl who laughs, loves playing with her toys, reading (eating) books, going on walks in the stroller and is quite close to crawling! Our days of a stationary baby are rapidly coming to an end. She also loves standing up when you hold her hands (as you can see in the video) and wants to do that almost all the time. So maybe we'll be walking soon - yikes!

Trip to the Shedd

Yesterday we took K to the Shedd Aquarium and took advantage of one of their free days! We went with Cousin L who is very much into fish these days. K seemed to enjoy the fish and liked watching them swim by. She especially liked this main fish tank at the entrance where it was easy to see all the fish swimming by.

K liked these colorful orange fish and tried touching them as she put her hand up to the glass.

Cousin love as L wanted to get in the stroller with K!

Dad showing K some walleye that she will learn how to catch up at the lake soon!

8 months old!

On Jan 4 our little girl was 8 months old - where does the time go? She is such a fun and sweet little girl who really is happy nearly all the time. We are truly blessed.

She is very busy and always is on the go. As you can see, she didn't want to sit for very long for these photos!

She is also very aware of her surroundings and didn't want anything to do with this bow/headband either!

What else can she do? Sit up by herself, roll over all over the floor, likes standing up when being held, playing with toys especially ones that make music, picks up snacks on her highchair tray with her fingers, laughs when tickled, smiles when someone she knows enters the room, is starting to become more aware of strangers and many, many other things. We are trying to capture each and every moment as they go by way too quickly.

Snow!

We finally had a good snow today. The suburbs have received much more snow than we have downtown throughout December snowstorms but today we finally got our share. There's about 4 inches on the ground now with lake effect snow expected throughout the night. Had to take the little lady out for the experience and some pics!

Waiting for mom and dad to get dressed to go outside and play in the snow.

I was a little unsure being pulled around in the sled, but by the end she got a bit more sure of it.

Putting her to work

The laundry basket is definitely a new favorite place to hang out. She even "helped" us fold the laundry this weekend!

Some of the best toys are free

The laundry basket is a very fun place to hang out.

And makes a great teething toy too!

Ringing in the New Year

On a very cold Chicago night, we celebrated New Year's at our neighbors house and thankfully only had to walk across the courtyard to get there. The kids had a fun time with the hats and leis. Didn't make it until midnight but we were close!

All I want for Christmas...

are my two front teeth! She finally let me capture proof that we do in fact have our two bottom front teeth.
