My future is so bright...
I gotta wear shades! The weather has been somewhat warm (for Chicago in Feb) that when I went shopping to Gymboree (big mistake for my wallet! but did have a good coupon and some store credits - still always dangerous) I couldn't resist these pink, heart sunglasses. Of course K loved them and put them on right away... she then said "cheese!" This girl knows how to work the camera of course.

A Day at the Museum
This past weekend we made a trip out to the suburbs to the Kohl Childrens Museum in Glenview. There was a ton to for K and Lilly to explore and they both seemed to have a really fun time!
K wasn't very thrilled about putting on a camo cape but dad really wanted it to happen.
Hanging out with Aunt Trish

Driving the car with Lilly but if you can see K's face she clearly doesn't want to be in the passenger seat!
Working on the digger with dad.
Having a tea party with babies - could it get any better?
Playing with trains.
K had a bit of a cold hence the dazed look here!

How to Entertain an Energetic Toddler in the Dead of Winter
The weather outside is frightful and K has a bit of a wicked cold... so what to do to avoid cabin fever? Trying new things including finger painting! She seemed to like it a lot, but was not thrilled when she realized her hands were dirty and covered in paint. We had to take a few washing breaks while creating the beautiful works of art.

And sometimes all it takes is a few bags with some "treasures" in them to carry around for awhile. This kept K occupied for at least 30 minutes -loved it!

Snow day!
We ended up getting 20 inches of snow but the 70 mph winds along with lightning/thunder during the peak of the storm made it crazy! Not sure where all this snow will go, but we did have fun and enjoy it yesterday before the very cold weather arrived today - lows of -2 not including wind chill.

Our courtyard after the shoveling crew came through. Snow up to our waist!
Snow drift outside our front door and one of four screens that blew off in the storm.
K did seem to have some fun and was all bundled up.
Queen of the snow mound!

Random collection of pictures
Here's a collection of photos of our little lady from the past week or two.
K wanted to read the paper and catch up on what is going on in the world.

K looooves pasta and enjoyed spaghetti the other night.
We got a family membership to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum right near our house. K has been before but it's a nice outing for a cold, winter day. Here's a water exhibit talking about water ways and the deep tunnel in Chicago which of course D knows a lot about with his job!
Big polar bear at the nature museum! Makes K look so tiny.
A friend from high school had a baby so we went out to visit. Matthew was peacefully sleeping in his swing and K pushed him saying "weee!".
