Christmas with Grammy, Papi and LILLY!

We spent Christmas Eve and Day out in Barrington with Grammy and Papi Abbey. K just started saying Lilly's name and every time she says it she shouts it - LILLY! She is quite excited about her cousin. Lilly showed her the ropes on how to open presents.

K got the hang of it pretty quickly but once she got a present open she wanted to play with it and not move on to the next gift. She'll probably learn that quickly next year!

One of the only cousin pictures that turned out. It is difficult getting a good picture of two very mobile and energetic toddlers! I love the arm over the shoulder.

Little Miss Independent

The other day Doug was trying to get some quick exercise in and did some push ups on the kitchen floor. K saw him and of course had to copy his movements by laying on the floor and lifting herself up and down on the floor. It was so funny!


One very little independent little girl decided she absolutely had to wear her patent leather party shoes the minute I took them out for Christmas. It didn't matter she was wearing jeans and a t-shirt a girl always knows the shoes make the outfit!

K is a really great eater including with vegetables so we are quite lucky. We have been giving her raw veggies and she saw us dipping them so of course she wanted to "bip" too. She ate so many more veggies we were shocked!

And this picture just cracked us up because you can see Kallie's attempt to get some snacks. We even caught her tongue in action!

Let it snow, let it snow...

Yesterday as the wicked snowstorm started hitting Chicago, we decided to take K out for a quick sled trip at our nearby park. Wanted to get out for some fresh air before the arctic freeze set in and we couldn't get her out for a few days! We headed out with our neighbor friends Maddie and Keira. They weren't so sure about why we were out in this frigid weather with wind that whipped the snow in your face!

The look on K's face is funny - she's looking at me like "mom, why are we out here again?"

She had on so many layers she barely was propped up in the sled! Ahh the memories.

K has declared herself a Bears fan. Sorry WI family!

Let it snow, let it snow!

First snow of the season and we went out and played in it yesterday. K made a snowman with dad and enjoyed sledding too!




Kallie just likes to eat the snow.

Thanksgiving weekend

We had a wonderful turkey day and our relatives from Austin made the trip in . We had a blast and K enjoyed playing with all her cousins. We made a trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo together to enjoy the lights and K kept saying lights, lights! As well as monkey too.

We also made a trip to see Santa at the Arboretum Shopping Mall in Barrington and Grammy and Papi got a picture in front of the big tree with all the grandkids.

K enjoyed spending time with her cousins from Texas and they enjoyed her just as much!
