And we wait

Tonight is the night E must do the 8 hour fast to see if she can keep up her blood sugar levels without food. It will be a very long night for her and I know it will be difficult for us to sleep as we thinking about her constantly. Her nurse is prepared and will be holding and rocking her through it. The nurse practitioner who updated us on her status the past day wasn't very optimistic since some of her readings were slightly lower recently. We hope and pray she is able to keep her sugars above 60 so she can come home tomorrow but we are on pins and needles. The fast will start around 9 or 10 tonight so let the waiting begin. This seems like a bad dream we should wake up from soon but it unfortunately continues. We just want our little girl home with us but do understand it needs to be safe for her to leave the hospital.
